A Family Affair Photography bio picture
  • About me!

My name is Ashley Behrle and I am the owner of A Family Affair Photography. I am a wife, a mother, crafter, chocoholic, craft beer lover and photographer. I have an affinity for capturing important moments…even the mundane ones, because well, moments are just a fleeting snipit in time that will be forever lost. To me, a photograph is priceless.
I started taking photos of friends and family as a "hobby". I am proud to say that after 6 years of this business, I have grown as a photographer and person. I have met some pretty cool people along the way and have built friendships that will be life lasting. I owe everything, and I mean everything to God's grace. He has opened doors for me that I never thought were possible for my life.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at my work. I hope to not only share people's photos and memories, but an insight into my life as a mom, wife and photographer.

The best thing about working this business is the commitment families have in choosing me. It warms for heart! This particular family has been with me since the beginning. It was my first full time year of business when I got an email from Brandy and we’ve been stuck together ever since 😉

For this session we went downtown and did something completely different for them! I am in love with their outfit choices!! Although it was FREEZING, it was worth every second!!

It is always super fun and such a huge compliment when other photogs hire me to do THEIR family photos. I mean, I just can’t thank them enough for entrusting me with this! For their session, Ashley knew she wanted open fields mixed with a creek. I was almost shooting in the dark at the end and really pushed my settings to the max. I love how moody all of these were! Not to mention that SKY! Big puffy heart eyes for that Disney sky. I love everything about this session..this family, sweet Amelia Rose, her little piggy, the love and laughter..I could go on and on! Thank you again Heppermann Family!!!!

A few months back I posted a session of the Gegg’s downtown STL. Kan-man is turning ONE(cue cries from us all) so we did more pictures! This time though, we did them at their home on their beyond gorgeous property and added in Elisha’s family.

Some of you know I am an itWorks Distributor and have been super successful with it! I am a Double Diamond leader and my hubby is Diamond with an AMAZING team of people. I believe in their products, their business plan and what they are doing for thousands and thousands of people trying to get out debt. Because of this company, my family and I are dreaming again!

So what does this have to do with Elisha? Well, if it weren’t for this crazy wrap business, I would have never met my best friends. Elisha and her sister Krissy have been a source of unwavering support, love, laughter and friendship. I love more deeply, am more compassionate and over all a better person because of them. To think a year ago there wasn’t this friendship! I am incredibly blessed to have two businesses that are thriving and that I have such incredible support from these 2 <3

This has been the year of the photogs! I am loving that so many of my photographer friends have trusted me with their family memories…what an amazing feeling! I met Becca through our photography group. She is the sweetest, kindest person and has immense talent behind the lens. I am continuously amazed by what she puts up on FB…love your work my friend.

For their session we chose this adorable park where there is the awesome low tree limb. That night we had super dramatic lighting and at the very end the sky did something magical! I loved this session and I love how Becca’s nurturing spirit speaks through these images. I can’t wait to photograph them again!
